Career advancement is the primary reason most people get an MBA. At the W. P. Carey School, career resources take on a whole new meaning for our students. Our Graduate Career Management Center helps you uncover your strengths, design an individualized career plan, better position yourself in the job market, and find that just-right position to meet your strengths and objectives. It’s a process that, for many, starts even before arriving at their first class.
Returning to b-school to open up more career opportunities, Maggie MacCool wanted to keep her options open. With a background in finance and technology, she was unsure if she should go a new direction or build on her experience. With staff-to-student ratios among the best in the nation, the W. P. Carey Career Management Center is well-positioned to offer personal service. Maggie experienced this first-hand as her career services rep identified her greatest strengths and the work culture that would suit her best, and uncovered a perfect internship opportunity at Intel.
“My career counselor had great insight into the ‘real’ me,” Maggie explains. “She had great knowledge of the industry, was a real advocate for the technology space, and that, combined with how well she had gotten to know me and my strengths, gave me assurance that this was the right decision,” Maggie says.
“I’m grateful the CMC worked so hard for me. I absolutely loved my internship last year and am now putting my MBA to work each day in my career with Intel.”
